1987: I competed in the race at age 20 in 1987, placing 9th overall out of 33 entrants, covering the 3,127 miles from San Francisco to Washington, DC in 10 days, 23 hours, and 58 minutes. Amazingly, I am still the race's youngest ever finisher. Here's the front of my crew shirt. OK, it's not that beautiful, but it did the job!
