1987: I competed in the race at age 20 in 1987, placing 9th overall out of 33 entrants, covering the 3,127 miles from San Francisco to Washington, DC in 10 days, 23 hours, and 58 minutes. Amazingly, I am still the race's youngest ever finisher. Here's the back of my crew shirt. I had a lot of sponsors, and this wasn't even all of them! (With twelve people, I also had the second largest crew. I could never have completed this race without the support of my crew and sponsors. Thanks!)
