Right when you least expect it, at the bottom of a long hill in the middle of the desert, the magic of the Hawaiian islands is in full bloom. How else could you explain the three hula girls, surf music on the stereo, and a barbecue scheduled for Sunday afternoon? Unless it is just the continued antics of Dan Dog Dibb and Greg Polecat Page, proprietors of Time Station 7.

Not to leave out the leis. Each rider arriving at TS #7 is presented with a souvenir lei. They aren't from Hawaii, of course. But the idea, as Polecat and Dog point out, is that anyone who has already ridden 450 miles, and is facing another 58 to the finish, deserves more than just a race official with a clipboard. And how!
