Chris Kostman's 508/RAAM Quilt, made by Shelby Kostman

1996: This was my last year as Race Director of the Team RAAM and my last year on the staff of the Race Across America. I had reached a point in my career when I wanted to take over and run the whole event, or not be involved at all. The RAAM partners refused all three of my offers to buy their company, so I turned in my resignation in an amicable parting of the ways. AdventureCORPS would now be my full-time focus as it was time to pour all my energies into my own dreams and projects. A year later, the Race Director, Michael Shermer, presented me with a Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of my thirteen years of service to RAAM. (I did not have this shirt in my collection, so Jeff Bell, a 508 and RAAM veteran and long-time friend, gave me this shirt for this quilt project. Thanks, Jeff!)
