The U.K. is well represented at the 2003 Furnace Creek 508. Stephen "Harpy Eagle" Nelson, a supermarket chain executive, rides with force, supported by an all-British crew who are having the time of their life. Far removed from foggy England, two-person team British Bulldogs appear to be right at home as the descend Salsberry Pass on the road to Shoshone. With a rich cycling heritage, British riders have a history of ultracycling success in the States.
