Chris Kostman's 508/RAAM Quilt, made by Shelby Kostman

This is the shirt for the first 508 that I produced, back when it was called RAAM Open West. Prior to this event, I had raced this event in 1985 and 1986 (when it was called John Marino Open), crewed at two, and officiated all of the other events from 1984 onwards. In the history of this event, which dates to 1983, I've only missed two of them: 1983 and June 1989. I've now been race director twelve times. Lucky number 13 will be in October 2001! (And for some reason, I have no t-shirts from all those prior years, 1984 through 1989, but I think that John didn't usually make t-shirts. Otherwise, packrat that I am, I would still have them!)
